This Vintage Souvenir Tray was likely stamped in lead and dipped in copper and available for purchase for pennies somewhere in Washington, D.C. Perhaps a cart vendor sold them. I have no way of discerning a date of production and it isn’t printed anywhere on this. However, since it reads on the back that the patent was pending, it is more than likely an earlier version of this tray.
The tray has a rich lovely antique patina that I refused to clean to keep it authentic. It would look so nice center-framed and double matted. Americana such as this is getting harder and harder to find these days.
